Aisa Yeh Jahaan is a 2015 Indian drama film directed by Biswajeet Bora, notable for being India’s first carbon-neutral film. The narrative explores themes of environmental degradation, cultural identity, and the detachment from nature, especially as the family reconnects with their roots during a visit to their ancestral home in Assam.
‘Aisa Yeh Jahan’ has undertaken plantation with Urban Afforestation Project in 2015. In total 568 native tree saplings were planted at 4 locations in Mumbai. In order to ensure biodiversity aspects, 24 unique native species have been planted.
568 trees have been planted by the team of the film to aid in the carbon offset efforts. These include some important species such as 1) Amaltas 2) Amla 3) Bakul 4) Banyan 5) Palash 6) Indian rosewood 7) Sita Ashoka
